My mouse feels slow or making loud scratching noises on my WALLHACK glasspadUpdated 23 days ago
Slow glide characteristics, scratchy sensations, or audible noise during mouse movement can occur for several reasons related to normal skate wear and environmental contamination.
PTFE, UHMW-PE, and similar mouse skate materials are designed as consumable low-friction components and will gradually wear over time through repeated interaction with the mousepad surface during gameplay. As the skate surface wears, friction characteristics may change, resulting in a slower glide feel, increased surface texture feedback, or additional sound during movement. This behavior is considered normal material wear and does not indicate a manufacturing defect or product failure. When glide performance noticeably degrades or scratchiness becomes excessive, replacing the skates with a new set is recommended.
On hard surfaces such as glass mousepads, the rigid and non-compressible nature of the surface can also make debris interaction more noticeable compared to cloth mousepads. Dust, dirt, hair, or other small particles may become trapped between the mouse skates and mousepad surface during use, resulting in scratching sounds or irregular glide behavior. Regular cleaning of both the mouse skates and mousepad surface is recommended to maintain consistent glide performance and minimize debris-related noise.
